A Stunning Glass Front Pool at Manly (Residential)

Stunning glass-fronted pool build at Queenscliff (near Manly) on the Northern Beaches.

This architecturally designed home, perched on the hill at Queenscliff on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, underwent a complete new build with the stunning glass-fronted swimming pool being the last addition and, we believe, the best feature this amazing property.

With limited space available and challenging access, multiple pool building and construction concepts had to be implemented. Privacy was also important to the client along with a seamless flow from the indoors out.

A contemporary glass-fronted pool design ranks high on many people’s wish lists at the moment. The glass panel on the front of this Manly pool not only provides a beautiful design aesthetic but creates a seamless visual continuation from the adjacent outdoor kitchen and entertaining area. If you imagine the glass front replaced with a solid tiled wall, the aesthetics wouldn’t be anywhere near as stunning. The glass also means you can see the beautiful mosaic tiles – a stylish design feature and very popular choice.

Additionally, minimal use of subtle light-coloured limestone tiles contrasting with darker granite tiles were chosen specifically so the pool gave the appearance of a continuation on from the home. Once the landscaping and plants are more established, the pool will blend even further with the surrounding environment.

The seamless flow from the indoors out was achieved with the addition of a bi-fold kitchen window. The swimming pool can also be seen from the living area. The owners were ecstatic about the idea of relaxing in the pool whilst still able to communicate with family members and guests in the kitchen. It also meant the adults could easily keep a watchful eye on kids in the pool.

Pool lighting is something many people overlook or don’t want to integrate into their budget. Clever pool lighting not only means the area can safely be enjoyed after dark but turns it into a striking architectural feature.

The 2m x 2m spa was a welcome addition to this Northern Beaches pool build as a private place to relax and drink in the stunning coastal views.

This Northern Beaches pool build was a thoroughly rewarding experience for everyone on the Wright Pools team and the results were nothing short of spectacular.
