What we build

Concrete pools, built two ways.

Every Wright pool is poured in steel-reinforced concrete and engineered in house. The shape, the finish, and the setting change project to project. The standard does not.

Why Wright

Why owners and architects choose us.

Shaped to your site

A poured concrete pool can take any shape and drop into any block. Curved, angled, infinity edge, split level. You are not choosing from a catalogue of moulds. You draw it, we build it.

Almost 60 years building pools

Building Sydney pools since 1968. Nearly six decades on, many of our earliest pools are still in the ground and still swimming.

Commercial grade, brought home

Taronga Zoo, city hotels and rooftop decks. The same structural rigour that passes a commercial build goes into a backyard pool.

The same team, start to finish

You deal with the same Wright Pools team from the first site visit to handover and beyond. The supervisor who starts your build is the one who finishes it.

The Wright Way

Four steps from sketch to swim.

Every Wright pool follows the same path, from the first site visit to the day you swim. One team, one supervisor, start to finish.

01
Consultation & Site Visit

We meet at your home or site, walk the space and listen to the brief. We read the access, the fall of the land and where the sun sits. No charge and no pressure, just a clear picture of what your block can take.

02
Design & Engineering

We draft the pool to suit the architecture and the soil, then engineer the shell in house. You see the shape, the levels and the finishes before a shovel moves, and the structure is signed off for your ground conditions.

03
Construction

Excavation, steel, shotcrete and finish, in that order. One of our supervisors stays on your project from the first cut to handover, so the crew on site always answers to the same person.

04
Handover & Care

A full walk-through of pump, filter, lighting and everyday care, with the compliance paperwork you need. Our team stays available long after handover, the way they have for nearly sixty years.

Concrete is the only material that lets us shape a pool the way an architect shapes a room. It outlasts the house.

In their words

Trusted across Sydney.

"Wright Pools made the build feel calm. The concrete shell sat perfectly in the slope and the finish is exactly what we drew on the napkin."

James. Northern Beaches, Residential 2024

"Three architects recommended Wright. Now we know why. Everything was on time and the pool reads as part of the house."

Sarah. Mosman, Residential 2023

"They built our rooftop pool over a structural deck in the CBD. Engineering was flawless. Five years on, still pristine."

Good to know

Questions we hear most.

What drives the cost of a concrete pool?
Mostly the site. Excavation and rock, slope and retaining, and access decide much of the figure before any finish is chosen. Size and depth, the interior finish, coping and surrounds, plant and automation, and the approvals pathway make up the rest. We explain each on our cost guide and quote a real figure after a site visit.
Should I choose concrete or fibreglass?
Concrete suits a bespoke design, a sloping or rocky block, and a pool meant to last the life of the home, since it can be any shape and is resurfaced rather than replaced. Fibreglass installs faster and costs less to start but comes in fixed moulded shapes. Our concrete vs fibreglass comparison weighs both in detail.
How long does a concrete pool take to build?
Most residential builds run fourteen to twenty weeks from contract to handover, depending on access, soil and council approvals. Approvals typically take a few weeks, the shell and cure a few more, then coping, finish, plant and commissioning. Commercial timelines vary with the building program. Our process page sets out each stage.
Do I have to register my pool in NSW?
Yes. Every pool that can hold water deeper than 30 centimetres must be listed on the NSW Swimming Pool Register, recorded against the property. A certificate of compliance, once issued, is valid for three years.
